Anderson Truss Company, Inc. was founded by John and Marilyn Prospero in 1978 with a vision to provide customers with exceptional service and the highest quality roof and floor trusses at a fair price. The company started with two employees, a manual component saw, and one table each for floor and roof truss assembly. While the truss company vision has not and will not change, much is different from those first years. Though the early 80’s were particularly tough for builders, Anderson Truss Company was able to make it and begin to thrive in the mid 80’s and 90’s. The first half of the 2000’s also brought good times to builders and Anderson Truss Company was there to support them. Through those good years, Anderson Truss Company has grown into the role of a leading provider of structural wood components, not just in East Tennessee, but in the southeast. We have shipped jobs into the neighboring states of Kentucky, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.
Anderson Truss Company currently has around seventy-five employees on two shifts. Our shop is stocked with the latest computer controlled equipment for both cutting lumber and fabricating trusses. The computer controlled equipment allows Anderson Truss to maintain the precision and accuracy required for the complex roof and floor systems that today’s housing market demands.
While Anderson Truss Company, Inc. is adjacent to Anderson Lumber Company, they are actually two independent companies. Unlike other building material suppliers in East Tennessee, Anderson Truss Company focuses exclusively on structural components. While we are familiar with other areas of construction, we sell only five items:
- Floor Trusses (wood and light gauge cold formed steel)
- Roof Trusses (wood and light gauge cold formed steel)
- Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL)
- Simpson Construction Hardware
Whether you are a homeowner working on a three truss addition or a general contractor with a multi-million dollar apartment complex, this kind of focus allows all of our sales and design staff to have the expert product knowledge to best assist you in making structurally correct and cost effective choices for your project. Also, through the years Anderson Truss Company has built an extensive dealer network. Partnering with these building material suppliers means you can actually purchase trusses from your local supplier- just be sure to tell them that you want your trusses to be built by Anderson Truss Company.
Please give us a call or send us an email to have a sales or design associate meet with you regarding your project. We look forward to the opportunity to assist you.
